Laboratory appliances are a major asset in animal units. More cages can be cleaned, refreshed and provided with new bedding than if one has to proceed manually.
A stand-alone washing machine can make a big difference to the animal carer who previously had to do manual cleaning, such as improvement in ergonomics, safety due to working with detergents and efficiency.
A bedding dump without an external container is already an improvement for the working environment of the animal caretaker in small and medium-sized animal houses. Working with a bedding dump has several advantages: the speed at which the cages are refreshed, more ergonomic work, cost calculation per cage, etc.
Changing stations can be used to transfer animals from dirty IVC cages to clean cages in a sterile environment.
